Google recently announced that it will be using more carbon-neutral packaging to deliver consumer hardware devices. By the year 2022, the company will be using recycled plastic for its packaging, in an effort to help the environment by decreasing the waste produced in each delivery package.
This move highlights the importance of protecting the environment, particularly for tech companies, as production and usage of tech gadgets has increased the need for more energy, which in turn has a negative impact on the environment.
Google has also worked to decrease the use of places to ship items ordered by consumers and is using more ships rather than aircraft. This has led to a 40% reduction in carbon emissions per unit last year, compared to 2017.
The company has committed to introducing recycled plastic to all its products by 2022, and aims to encourage more businesses towards becoming more environmentally sustainable.
